The Southern Heritage’s award winning project at
211 W. Warren Ave.in Longwood Florida consisted of a total re-construction of the porches, the entire third floor and roof system. We matched the existing heart pine floors, trim and casework. Most of the doors and windows were restored. The staircase to the third flooris truly an artful reproduction of the main staircase… a must see for everyone! The walls were straightened with bracing, and even planing the 125 year old pine studs. Structural sheathing was then installed.

Icynene foam insulation was used under the roof deck and in the gable ends to further increase energy efficiency. All of the post and beam construction at the porches is custom fitted and bolted together with a concealed fastening system. All our millwork details provide a masterful reproduction! Detailing was designed by Mike Smith to render an exact replica of the original structure built by Josiah Clouser in 1885. The home served as a birthing center, a general store and now as an office for a premier engineering firm.
